CHATHEALTH

ChatHealth is a secure NHS approved text messaging service. All Norfolk young people aged 11 – 19 can text 07480 635060 to start a conversation with a trained health professional. You can chat about a mental or physical health worry or question you have. The team will answer your questions and offer confidential support and advice.

EMPATHY - Suicide Bereavement Support

Empathy is an independent, Norwich based organisation that provides support, within Norfolk, specifically for people who have been bereaved through, or personally affected by, someone ending their own life. Founding Empathy as a community group evolved from personal, lived experience of the complex grief of suicide bereavement and our recognition of the sensitive care and compassionate support that is needed for those who are experiencing the emotional turmoil that is suffered by many people who are grieving such a loss.

HOPE AFTER SUICIDE LOSS

Hope after Suicide Loss (HOPE) exists to meet the complex needs of suicide bereavement. At HOPE we believe suicide loss should not remain under the care of general bereavement. A clear distinction needs to be made between the support offered for suicide loss that is recognised as psychological trauma and support given to uncomplicated grief.

JUST ONE NORFOLK

Just One Norfolk has been created by Norfolk & Waveney Children & Young People's Services. All requests for mental health support for 0-25 year olds across Norfolk & Waveney are processed by Just One Number. The team in Just One Number will review all the information outlined in the request and support children, young people and their families access a range of options to improve their mental health and wellbeing, including: Self-care resources, Advice and guidance, Access to mental health or emotional wellbeing support services.

KOOTH

Kooth is a support service for 10 to 18-year-olds that you can access on any device that connects to the internet. The team at Kooth are there to provide free, safe and anonymous online support and counselling. The team is made up of online counsellors and emotional wellbeing practitioners who can be at the end of the phone when you need it.

LEEWAY

Norfolk's largest specialist provider of domestic abuse support. Established in 1974, Leeway is an independent charity providing support to adults, young people and children who are experiencing domestic abuse in Norfolk and Suffolk. We operate eight safe houses and people experiencing domestic abuse and their children are welcome to stay as long as necessary to secure a future free from a dangerous partner.

MAP is here for young people. We are advisers, counsellors and youth workers who work together to provide the best help we can in a way that makes sense to you. MENSCRAFT

Supporting men who have experienced suicidal thoughts and are at the edge of crisis. Working across Norfolk, our skilled and supportive team help men overcome the barriers that may prevent them opening up and talking to others. Men are not only supported in their mental wellbeing, but also with the practical concerns which may have precipitated their crisis, such as housing, money, or relationship difficulties.

Norfolk LGBT+ Project supports hundreds of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and non-binary people across Norfolk. Through a network of volunteers, the charity offers services ranging from one-to-one and family support and to LGBT+ awareness training and low-cost counselling. The Project aims to improve the health and wellbeing of LGBT+ people of all ages and communities in Norfolk and Waveney.

Our Recovery Inside prison service, run in HMP Norwich, provides assessment and psychosocial support for men in custody who have drug and alcohol problems. Through one­-to-­ones and group sessions, the Phoenix Futures team provide a therapeutic approach to treatment.
